When was the last time you flipped through a trade magazine that specialized in your ‘sub-culture’ of choice just looking at advertisements…
Pick up any ‘hobby’ or ‘interest’ magazine and you’ll see they are chock-full of advertisements – highly customized for your… their target audience.
(well the good ones anyway)
Do you realize how much good money is being thrown away on bad advertising?
It’s a lot!
So… as we move on with this exercise, go ahead and mark the very best advertisements for yourself…. see which ones strike your fancy… those that make you want to act.
Put a big fat circle around them
Dog ear the page
Rip out the pages and cram them into you “swipe file” for later
Hold on a minute… before you rip them out and shove them into a binder that’s overflowing with good stuff…
let’s make sure they are the BEST stuff…
Here’s your simple check list to know if they are the best
+ They include an offer! This seems like a ‘no brainer’ but it really is a writer-downer… most advertising money is flushed down the drain with some announcement or branding activity. That’s the fastest way to get to hate advertising for your business!
+ They have a deadline! An offer without a deadline is like buying a coffin for yourself in your twenties…it’s not likely you’ll need to use it, so you’re going to put off the purchase.
+ They allow you to TRACK the response! Is there an ‘offer code’ – a special phone number or maybe even a specific web address that’s used? If not…then how do you know what works and what doesn’t? How can you keep track of your ad spend without knowing which ads you need more of and which you need to kill?
It really can be that simple!
There’s a HUGE difference between niche and sub-culture… and we’re going to unpack that very powerful difference in our FREE NO-PITCH workshop tomorrow.
See you there,
PS: There will not be a “go here to get the replay” for tomorrow’s workshop because I’ll be locking it down and offering it as training to my newest concierge clients. So, if you want that same information you’ll want to reserve your spot now!
