Good morning Friend,
Even though you’re getting this on Tuesday morning, I’m here at home staring at the silver body of my MacBook Pro as it’s blazing hot outside, writing on Sunday afternoon because I just saw something on Facebook that made my hair stand on end. I thought you might be able to relate…
So, there’s this guy (a pretty well known business trainer and online tool creator) that just crafted a post on Fakebook about 10 paragraphs long. Each of the paragraphs was written specifically to manipulate those that bought his product and aren’t happy with it.
(and here’s why)
1. When he ‘launched’ the product – he made HUGE promises, but only delivered on about 2/3 of them. This was okay for a while, because what was delivered satisfied most of the buyers.
2. When the support tickets and cries for help increased – he and his support staff disappeared. He then reappeared about 9 months later and said he was ‘sorry’, but he was in the middle of selling his company and the integration was overwhelming… the crowd got more restless.
3. Then… May 20th (this year) – 2 months ago, he said he was reinvesting into the advancement of undeveloped ‘features’ and wanted everyone to pitch in and tell him what should be added in version 2. But, the crowd focused on telling him he needed to deliver on what was promised in version 1.
He got mad, went on a rant, and…
started deleting comments and kicking people out!
4. Now… we’re 2 months into the “what should be next”… nothing has happened…. people are still complaining about what should have been fixed a year ago… and he’s now trying to manipulate his customers by showing how he responds when a tool he uses has a bug.
This guy is so needy for being liked that he’ll go to the end of the earth to get high fives and manipulate those around him to feel sorry for him, when all he had to do…
was deliver on his first set of promises!
He’s like my dog… every time I pull out the bag of Ruff Puff treats, she does every trick she knows trying to earn the treat… but if she’d just stop and listen… she might just get the treat for only doing a single trick (or none at all).
All this continues to prove….
We must keep our word.
We must earn our keep!
We must under promise and over deliver!
We must be honest and sincere!
In everything we do!
If you’re anything like me – this is the EXACT reason why trying something new is so scary. These new products and services that get rolled out everyday give us the heebee jeebies because we don’t know if we can trust giving our money to the business owner – all because a few bad apples have spoiled the bushel.
When you’ve been helping others build their businesses as long as I have (since 1988), then you’re bound to realize that newly launched ‘unproven’ stuff sucks a lot of money and time out of the system – and scares a lot of people away from the great stuff!
That’s why we’re committed to give you…
dull, proven, helpful, old school, anti-establishment stuff like “Main Street Mutiny” – it’s like getting the keys to a Honda… it’s not flashy, but you know you can count on it… every time!
But, the Honda isn’t right for everyone.
In fact, I’d say, it’s not right for a lot of people.
It’s not right for business owners that are looking for a quick fix to problems that have plagued their business for a long time.
It’s not right for business owners that like new shiny objects.
It’s not right for business owners not willing to think about their business differently.
It’s not right for business owners that don’t want a solid foundation and tried and true business practices to produce more profit predictably.
I’m serious! If that’s you… you’ll take up too much of our energy and I don’t want you to subscribe.
If you’re looking for solid gold and a proven system delivered every month – right to your mailbox. Then, it’s time to get yours.
PS: I’ve been getting email asking why I’m putting time and date stamps on my messages…. and simply put, I want you to realize I’m a real guy working on these messages when the inspiration hits me. And, it demonstrates how little time it takes to stay in touch with you when I write. It’s something you can do in your business too. Seeing is believing!
